Effective face-to-face engagement with the media is a necessary skill for senior executives to acquire, whether it is for a special event or as preparation for an ongoing media outreach programme.
Hydra’s media training resource boasts producers, reporters and anchors from BBC Radio and TV, as well as Sky News and a number of national and international newspapers. We have experience of preparing CEOs, VIPs and other key individuals for meetings and interviews with not only the leading business journalists from leading outlets, but also for the very different approaches of general news, political reporters and even sport.
Our programmes are bespoke and range from three hours to a full day, catering for both individuals and groups. However, all assignments cover two critical elements in order to prepare adequately:
- Effective storytelling through key messages – Problem, Solution, Benefit
- Understanding the journalist’s agenda and approach
Our consultants use filming and recording resources, including studios if necessary, and are adept at testing key messages in a realistic media scenario.
Clients have been trained for appearances on Radio 4’s Today programme, BBC Newsnight, Sky News, CNBC, Bloomberg TV and all major TV and radio news bulletins, as well as for parliamentary select committee hearings.
